Château de la Cantrie is a eleven hectares vineyard in terrasses overlooking the Sèvre river.

This wine follows the qualitative processes to be described by Institute of appellation d’Origine as one of “Crus communaux” in MUSCADET. These specific parts of the vineyards are selected for the top quality of their soil. “Les Terrasses” will be a Cru from Monnieres – Saint-Fiacre which is in process of recognition.

Harvest: Harvest is entirely made by hand to preserve the aromas of the berries until they are crushed


Wine making process: After fermentation, the wine ages on the lees at least 24 months before bottling. Bottles are kept at the winery 2 to 5 years before they are released.

Terroir: The soil is made of schist, a volcanic soil inherited from the Armorican massif


Vine age: 20 to 30 years old


Food pairing: This high end aged Muscadet pairs beautifully with fish in sauce, white meat, creamy mushrooms and cheeses
